(notice!)This is a previous version of the syllabus and will be revised before the course starts in October.
In this course,we’ll learn the fundamental theories and evolution of development economics by picking up some typical and original essays or monographs of it. (The development economics is the area of study that deals with how to develop developing countries and the economic mechanism of so called the third world.)
This year we will look at what kind of economic development should take place in each student's country of origin: industrial, agricultural, migrant labour, population, etc.

Course Outline and Reading lists ・*I’d like to change this schedule this year including newer materials or documents. ・Notice:we’ll proceed in turn from Ⅷ→Ⅵ→Ⅴ→Ⅰ→Ⅱ→Ⅶ→Ⅸ→Ⅹ③Demography→ⅩⅠ③Social Experiment(→ⅩⅡ④→Ⅳ→Ⅲ→ⅩⅡ⑤). ・:Because Ⅷ is an overview,we can get a perspective of the development economics.Ⅵ is not so recent one but even now one of hot topics in the development economics and especially Asian region. ・Through Ⅰ and Ⅱ we can learn the original style of the development economics and the essence deeply.Ⅴ is the very important theme of the development economics, because many Asian countries are growing on the Export Oriented Strategy even now. ・Although Ⅲ and Ⅳ are important to understand the development economics too,Ⅲ is related with the import substitute industrialization,Ⅳ is the main stream of economics and is related with the early development economics and recent thinking of the East Asian Miracle,I think we had better read the other subject first because of the time limit.
