授業の目的と概要
本講義は、英語の文構造を生成文法の視点から分析する入門コースです。言語とは何か、また、人間言語の仕組み（システム）はどの様な規則で形成されているのかについて議論します。
授業の到達目標
(1)構文解析の基本的な概念と技術的な道具立てを理解し，それらを英語を含む自然言語解析への応用できる。
(2)英語で書かれた学術論文を正確に読むことができ，要点をまとめることができる。
(3)議論の妥当性を判断でき，根拠を持って第３者にわかりやすく説明することができる。
授業計画
【全体】
本講義は、英語の文構造を生成文法の視点から分析する入門コースです。言語とは何か、人間の言語システムはどのようなルールで構成されているのかを議論します。 私たちはL1習得の際に、無意識のうちに言語の知識（規則）に従っています。 このルールには、音のシステムである音韻論、語の構造である形態論、語を組み合わせて文にする統語論、音と意味の関連性である意味論が含まれます。本講義では、その中でも 特に、人間の言語の統語構造に注目します。
