[NOTICE] This is a course shared between Yamaguchi university and Udayana university. This course is irregularly scheduled according to the coordination with Udayana University. Please contact lecturers to confirm the lecture schedule before your course registration.

This is an introductory course in processing grey-scale and color images.
It will introduce students to the basic principles of processing digital signals and how those principles apply to images.
These fundamentals will include sampling theory, transforms, and filtering.
授業の到達目標
・understand and master the main methods for image digitization and digital image representation;
・understand and be able to apply and to select the two-dimensional unitary transformations on digital images, depending on the practical application intended (filtering, enhancement, analysis)
・understand, select, and apply the most common mathematical algorithms used in digital image enhancement (grey scale transformations and spatial operations)
・understand and be able to apply the most common algorithms for digital image restoration, especially regarding degradation estimation, noise modeling, de-blurring
・understand the principle and be able to apply the most common algorithms used in digital image segmentation; edge detection and contour-based methods; spatial domain image segmentation; feature space segmentation
