Protected horticulture is an agricultural production system that aims to improve the yield and quality of horticultural crops by controlling the environment in a greenhouse. In this lecture, to understand the characteristics and issues of protected horticulture, the cultivation system and technologies such as environmental control and hydroponics are reviewed in relation to the basic knowledge of environmental response of plants and various phenomena related to environment. The seminar will be conducted in a small-group. Introduction of the latest academic papers, reading of technical books, and discussion. In addition, students and lecturers will discuss their research results.
