To develop the ability to use English as a tool for communication, this course emphasizes practical speaking and listening skills rather than mere knowledge acquisition. Compared to "English Conversation I," this course places greater emphasis on accurate and fluent language use.
Students will focus on improving the following abilities:
・ The ability to sustain a conversation for several minutes on specific topics of personal interest. ・ The ability to ask a variety of questions using relative pronouns and to paraphrase unfamiliar words. ・ The ability to exchange key information (such as when, where, who, what, why, and how) relatively smoothly in English. ・ The ability to respond to a conversation partner by asking questions, making comments, and using backchanneling cues appropriately.
