授業の目的と概要
In this course, students will focus on improving the following skills to develop fundamental reading and writing abilities in English:

・Understanding key points and extracting necessary information from texts on everyday topics such as daily life, hobbies, and sports.
・Writing opinions and impressions using basic vocabulary and expressions related to daily life, based on content they have listened to or read, including explanations or stories about life and culture.

・ Acquire foundational skills to use English as a global communication tool and develop the ability to actively engage in conversations, discussions, and presentations.            
・ Skills and Expressions: Able to understand key points and information from texts on everyday topics and express opinions and impressions in writing.
授業計画
【全体】
1) TOEIC Preparation(W1)

2) Students will train to develop reading comprehension skills by identifying key points while progressing through texts such as critiques and essays. To enhance understanding from paragraphs to entire passages, they will practice extracting essential information without relying on direct translation. This practice will be reinforced in each session.

3) Students will develop an understanding of how to structure and organize logical writing while honing the fundamental skills necessary for effective writing.

成績評価法
・Grading will be strictly determined based on regular exam scores, performance evaluations, and additional points from TOEIC scores and E-learning progress. (For details, please refer to the handout distributed in the first class.)

・Reading accounts for 70% of the overall course evaluation, while writing accounts for 30%.

・Students will be disqualified if they have four or more absences or fail to take the TOEIC L&R IP test in January. (If you are unable to take the TOEIC test due to unavoidable circumstances, you must notify the Academic Affairs Office of the Educational Support Division by the test day's registration closing time, which is the final admission time.)

Note: Official TOEIC Listening & Reading Practice Test 11 will be used across all four classes in both the spring and fall semesters. Please purchase only one copy from the university co-op. There is no need to buy four copies.

Note 2: Textbooks other than Official TOEIC Listening & Reading Practice Test 11 may be subject to change. Therefore, please refrain from purchasing them during the spring semester.
