授業の目的と概要
We will consider resource and environmental issues as they relate to phenomena around us.
The resource problem, for example, how petroleum and rare resources are used. And the plastic problem, which is causing environmental problems because of its too long life span. We will learn current thinking on these issues and how to deal with them.
授業の到達目標
Cultivate the ability to comprehensively understand the problems and issues of humans living in nature and the environment, and to consider what their future should be like.
授業計画
【全体】
In order to properly understand resource and environmental issues, the class will proceed according to the following plan.
The first half of the class will deal mainly with resource issues. The class will consider how oil and scarce resources should be used in the future, using concrete examples, oil usage, and oil reserves. In addition, the scarce resource issue will be considered with elemental strategies as keywords.
In the second half of the class, we will deal with the plastic problem. Why are plastics dangerous when they are supposed to be safe? Microplastics and recycling issues will be discussed.

第1回 Environmentally Harmonious Manufacturing Considering environmentally friendly manufacturing Considering environmentally friendly manufacturing
第2回 Toward Reducing Oil Use Organic molecules such as drugs and electronic materials use petroleum as a raw material. We will consider this. Consider ways to reduce petroleum use.
第3回 Rare Metals and Elements Strategy Rare metals such as platinum, palladium, and iridium are essential for the synthesis of organic molecules that make up pharmaceuticals and electronic materials. We will consider what kind of innovations are made at the site of molecule creation. Consider rare metals and elemental strategies.
