メディア授業とは，メディアを利用して遠隔方式により実施する授業の授業時数が，総授業時数の半数を超える授業をいいます。
メディア授業により取得した単位は，卒業要件として修得すべき単位のうち60単位を超えないものとされています。

This course is designed to provide students with the fundamentals necessary to study college chemistry. The textbook is organic chemistry based, but the first half of the course is ideal for high school and college students. This basic content will be introduced and connected to the study of chemistry in specialized courses. Then, students will be able to effectively proceed with the study of specialized chemistry (a required subject) from the second year onward. The course introduces the shape, energy, reactivity, and behavior of molecules, and explains and familiarizes students with the basic concepts of why chemical reactions occur, and the chemical meanings of acids and bases.

This course is the first 1/3 of a systematic study of organic chemistry. The content is divided into the following topics: introduction, molecular forms, types of compounds, basic concepts of organic reactions, concepts of conjugation and resonance, acids and bases, stereochemistry, chirality, and diastereomers. The course will be taught slowly at a comfortable pace, but preparation and review are required. Please study carefully using the preparation and homework assignments.

The instructor in charge of the course works at the Tokiwadai campus in Ube City, so all face-to-face questions and discussions will basically take place at the Ube campus. The teacher will be available anytime during class days (9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., excluding holidays and substitute holidays, but excluding times when the teacher is away on business or teaching in Yamaguchi) until the end of the examination period. However, appointments must be made in advance by e-mail.
