授業の目的と概要
This discussion based course will use Ted Talks to look at culture primarily in the United States. Each week will focus on several Ted Talks on different themes which fit the class`s interests. Students will develop the skills to choose their own Ted Talk and explain and present it to the class.
授業の到達目標
Students will ask questions about a wide variety of topics, and form and express clear opinions. They will summarize and explain presentations on different topics in English, and increase their comfort discussing topics in English. They will use this information to gain a deeper understanding of culture, both internationally and in their own lives.
授業計画
【全体】
The beginning of the class will be teacher guided discussion on a different topic each week, selected based on student interests. After students understand the flow of the class, students will take turns selecting Ted Talks that they are interested and presenting them to the class for discussion.
