Gender is different from sex which means biological sex difference, it means social and cultural difference. Why do we act "manly" if we are men and "feminine" if we are women, as a matter of course, based on our physical differences? Is there an inevitability to it? Also, to what extent is our way of life bound by the "gender role division of labour" that defines gender relations in society at large? In this lecture, we will visualize the gender structures that are woven into various aspects of our lives. By doing so, we will examine the impact of gender on our lives and choices and its consequences. * Depending on the situation, the format of classes and examinations may be changed.

Understand what gender (cultural and social sex differences) are, the internalization process of gender, and the negative aspects of gender norms on individuals and society. Beginning with a focus on one's own internalized gender as one's own problem, the course will view gender as a social construct that affects the family and society.
The first step is to share our awareness of the basic question, What is "gender"? Then, we will clarify the "gender" that lurks in every aspect of society in which we live our daily lives, and consider its current status and problems as our own. Also, by adopting a gender perspective, we would like students to feel more real that concrete daily social experiences are being systematically studied as "studies" in various fields.
