To be able to explain molecular structures and chemical reactions by understanding the basic principles of chemistry. To be able to understand and explain chemical phenomena and the mechanisms of chemical reactions based on theories, without relying on the rote knowledge of chemistry learned in high school chemistry class. ☑️To be able to understand the basics of chemistry, such as electron configuration, chemical bonding, the strength of acids and bases, redox reactions, and stereochemistry, and To be able to draw reasonable reaction mechanisms based on the basic knowledge of chemistry. ☑️To be able to explain the structure and reaction of chemical substances based on the fundamentals and principles of chemistry at the molecular level. ☑️To be able to find the relationship between chemsitry and your expertise. ☑️To be able to solve exercises/problems by making full use of the basic knowledge of chemistry. ☑️To be able to study independently and actively, and To be able to continuously obtain knowledge of chemistry.

The lecture will be provided with a projector. Quiz will be given at the beginning of the every lectures to encourage your study at home. In principle, the quiz will be came from the content of the out-of-class study instruction on the relevant lecture day. Attendance will be checked by submission of the quiz answer sheet.
As far as the number of students is within the capacity of the lecture room specified by the guidelines of Yamaguchi University, face-to-face classes will be held. Online classes may be held depending on the situation. The change will be announced by Shugaku-shien system (e-mail). If Yamaguchi University requests an online class on the day of the review exercise, the exercise will be considered as an exam and will be held in a face-to-face class.

備考
Please find any textbooks that suits yourself to study, since many books relating to basic chemistry are collected in the library.
Studying before and reviewing after lectures are e$ective for deep understanding of the textbook. The students are highly recommended to read the textbook in advance of each lecture. Please work on the problems in the text by your own to organize knowledge as well as to get a sense of chemistry.
