授業の目的と概要
This course introduces students to technical communication in both written and spoken skill areas. It covers basic academic writing and spoken communication appropriate for students of science and technology who will use English to interact with (or within) an international workplace.

In addition to four peer review sessions and three vocabulary quizzes, students will assemble an academic portfolio of four essays throughout the course and submit the top two, along with a final reflective statement, at the conclusion of the course. Students will be asked to post their essay drafts on a forum in order to conduct the peer review sessions and learn from other students' writings. All assignments will be conducted online via the Moodle 3 system. Students can expect to spend roughly 1~2 hours per week on assignments/review outside of class.

The course is scheduled to be conducted in a classroom in accordance with university health policy, but may switch to either online or some combination of classroom/online in response to future developments of the coronavirus. As a result, students should be ready to take some or all of the course online should the need arise by making sure they have a laptop and reliable access to the internet.
