The objective of this course is to understand the overall picture of immunology, a very complex life system. Based on the basic knowledge acquired in Immunology I, the mechanisms that eliminate invading pathogens will be explained. The pathological conditions that result from a breakdown of the immune system will be explained as well.

Based on the knowledge of immunology learned in Immunology I, students will understand the following. - Immune responses that occur in the body in response to pathogen invasion - Diagnostic and therapeutic methods based on the immune response - Pathological conditions caused by immune system dysfunction - Determination of acceptance/rejection of transplanted organs - Mechanisms for maintaining pregnancy The goal is to be able to explain these points logically based on the knowledge the student has gained in class.

Repeating the contents of Immunology I and applying the basic content learned in Immunology I, the course explains how the components of the immune system work together to protect the body and what pathological conditions appear when these interactions and control mechanisms fail. The lecture will also describe testing methods that apply the principles of immunology commonly used in laboratories and inspection facilities, as well as immunological therapies that have received much attention in recent years.
