This course is given by a practitioner who, after having worked in the private sector for six years, has been engaged in international cooperation as Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) officials for a quarter of a century, and has a total of 11 and a half years of experience in four Latin American countries, including JOCV( Japa Overseas Cooperation Volunteer) . International (development) cooperation is defined as "the support and collaboration of foreign organizations in the active efforts (development) of so-called developing countries to move to a ‘better state’, which itself is the provision of public goods”. First, using this definition as an entry point, it is aimed to deepen our understanding of contemporary social issues that cut across international development cooperation, namely economic development, human development, sustainable development, and governance. Based on the above, the next objective is to acquire an understanding and a simple method of how to formulate and evaluate cooperation with countries and sectors and individual projects in line with the PDCA cycle of ODA implemented by Japan.
