授業の目的と概要
This course is given by a practitioner who, after having worked in the private sector for six years, has been engaged in international cooperation as Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) officials for a quarter of a century, and has a total of 11 and a half years of experience in four Latin American countries, including JOCV( Japa Overseas Cooperation Volunteer) .

This is aim for Understanding the characteristics of Latin America's history, politics, and economy, this course examines current development challenges in the region. By comparing these challenges with those in participants' home countries, it provides material for reflecting on their own nations' development.

In doing so, particular attention should be paid to the following three points: ① Diversity (differences in national scale, natural conditions, resource endowment, historical backgrounds due to former colonial powers, and cultural/social variations stemming from distinct mixed-ethnic compositions during and after colonization) ② The influence of major powers and the pursuit of political and economic autonomy ③ Progress toward social inclusion

Understanding the characteristics of Latin America's history, politics, and economy, this course examines current development challenges in the region. By comparing these challenges with those in participants' home countries, it provides material for reflecting on their own nations' development.

After providing an overview of history, economics, and politics, several prominent development challenges are addressed next, and finally, specific countries are examined as case studies to comprehensively address development challenges.
