Through the following lecture content, students will deepen their physical understanding of Maxwell's equations—the governing equations of electromagnetic fields—and acquire knowledge of electromagnetic wave propagation (light waves, microwaves, millimeter waves). 1. Group discussions of the book in English for the lightwave propagation as a part of Electromagnetic wave. 2. Presentation of the contents. 3. Explanations for the numerical expressions in the text book.

Understand the propagation of light waves as electromagnetic waves. Understand the characteristics of light wave reflection, refraction, and transmission. Understand the phenomena of total internal reflection and total transmission. Develop the ability to read and comprehend specialized foreign-language texts while deriving equations and gaining physical understanding, along with the presentation skills to communicate their content to others.
Acquire the ability to read and present the context of the foreign technical book while deriving equations and understanding the physical aspects. Submit an A4 sheet of paper summarizing the previous week's class content before class.
