授業の目的と概要
After reviewing the basics of polymer chemistry, learn about the properties and characteristics of polymers related to biological functions from the standpoint of polymer chemistry. Also, learn about medical materials and medical materials that use the characteristics of macromolecules related to biological functions, while illustrating recent papers etc.

In this lecture, after a review of polymer chemistry, we will give lectures on polymer materials that are closely related to the life sciences, such as proteins, nucleic acids and polysaccharides. In addition to explaining the structure, features, and functions of those polymer materials, we will also introduce examples applied to artificial systems using them. Next, after an overview of soft materials, we will talk about synthesis, characteristics, and properties of polymer gels and other medical and medical materials that are closely related to life sciences, and introduce applications.

第1回 Polymer chemistry review Part 1 Review the basics of polymer chemistry. Lectures will be given on the premise of taking polymer chemistry, but explanations will be given focusing on the basic parts. Perform preparation and review (approximate total time: 4 hours or more)
第2回 Polymer chemistry review Part 2 In the second half, I will explain the basics of polymer synthesis as the basis of the method of synthesizing polymer materials as various medical materials that will be lectured. Perform preparation and review (approximate total time: 4 hours or more)
第3回 Polymer chemistry review Part 3 As for the method of structural analysis of synthetic polymer compounds, we will review the analysis methods considered to have been learned in the undergraduate course, and will also include analysis of actual data. 第4回 Materials used in vivo Part 1 Learn about the various reactions that occur to artifacts in vivo. In particular, we will focus on reactions that try to eliminate foreign substances, and explain their functions and prevention methods. 第5回 Materials used in vivo Part 2 Learn about the various reactions that occur to artifacts in vivo. We will continue to explain the function and prevention method, etc., focusing on the reaction to remove foreign matter in particular.

第11回 Basics of Drug Delivery System Along with basic lectures on pharmacokinetics in vivo and learn about the necessity and principle of drug delivery system. Perform preparation and review (approximate total time: 4 hours or more)
第12回 Application of Drug Delivery System Part 1 Lecture on application of drug delivery system. I will talk about what principles are used and how they are useful. Perform preparation and review (approximate total time: 4 hours or more)

If a student is absent more than four times, he/she will be disqualified.In-class report: 20%, comprehensive report at the end of the semester: 80%
