After reviewing the basics of polymer chemistry, learn about the properties and characteristics of polymers related to biological functions from the standpoint of polymer chemistry. Also, learn about medical materials and medical materials that use the characteristics of macromolecules related to biological functions, while illustrating recent papers etc.
Acquire advanced knowledge of life chemistry. To acquire understanding of scientific results and evaluation criteria based on the latest papers. To acquire an interest in all aspects of life chemistry. To acquire the ability to discuss one's knowledge and thoughts through presentations.

In this lecture, after a review of polymer chemistry, we will give lectures on polymer materials that are closely related to the life sciences, such as proteins, nucleic acids and polysaccharides. In addition to explaining the structure, features, and functions of those polymer materials, we will also introduce examples applied to artificial systems using them. Next, after an overview of soft materials, we will talk about synthesis, characteristics, and properties of polymer gels and other medical and medical materials that are closely related to life sciences, and introduce applications.
