授業の目的と概要
The future of mankind depends on ever-increasing agricultural production to provide food, fibre, fuel and other essential commodities. This can only be achieved through a sound knowledge of the plants which feature prominently in agriculture. The purpose of this class is to describe these plants in detail, together with the products that are obtained from them. Economically important field crops and pasture plants of temperate and subtropical regions are included.
授業の到達目標
The object of this class is to understand the agricultural plants, crops, in detail and to think how we can increase the crop yield.
授業計画
【全体】
There is an opening lecture on world population and food supply, followed by a general introduction to plant structure, and this class concludes with a discussion of physiological principles of crop growth and yield.
