Planning to have two field trips: Miyajima and Shunan. On Miyajima, we will first observe deer and learn how to distinguish between males and females and how to classify them into age classes. We will observe what kind of food they like to eat, and also observe how tourists feed them when we have the chance. Consider the high density of deer, their poor feeding environment, and why their numbers are not decreasing. Walk in the mountains and learn about the flora. The objective is to understand the relationship between deer and plants and the impact of humans on this relationship. In Shunan, we will walk through a forest inhabited by small animals and observe how the shrew is breeding. The objective is to understand the importance of cover. Plan may change from year to year.
