メディア授業とは,メディアを利用して遠隔方式により実施する授業の授業時数が,総授業時数の半数を超える授業をいいます。 メディア授業により取得した単位は,卒業要件として修得すべき単位のうち60単位を超えないものとされています。

This is one of the intensive courses held in English for 2 days. On the 1st day, we will focus on the copyright law. By understanding the framework of Japanese copyright system, we will think about the way of writing a good report or thesis by quoting others' writings adequately. On the 2nd day, we will study the basics of patent system, which is closely related to technology, agriculture, animals, medicine industries, etc. Based on the lectures, you will be required to make a short presentation on the second day. The presentation may include the topics such as the difference between Japanese system and that of your own country, introducing or analyzing an interesting court case, or any other topic you would like to discuss in the class. Depending on the numbers of the students, group works might be conducted and you will make the presentation as the result of your discussion.

The aim of the course is to understand the Intellectual Property rights protection system of Japan, while comparing with your own country or other countries, then to think about the problems existing in the current system.
|
|
|
|
The course covers the two important IP laws: Copyright and Industrial Property rights (including patent, design, trademark etc.). On the 1st day, you will learn about Copyright Act. On the 2nd day, you will learn about Patent law, Design law, Trademark law, and so on. After that, depending upon the numbers of students, you will be made into a few groups for discussion and presentation about IP issue. One or some of the group members will make a presentation per group.

Some issues of patent act related to the agricultural/animal are introduced. Based on such issues raised, students starts the disucssion for the final presentation.
