In this class, the evolutionary ecology of parasites and the control of parasitic diseases are generally discussed. Parasites have evolutionary adapted to diverse environments, and thus it is necessary to understand their evolutionary ecology, molecular phylogeny and phylogeography of parasites for the control of parasitic diseases.

Upon successful completion of this course, students will be able to: 1. Acquire basic knowledge of parasites that cause various problems in the fields of veterinary medicine, medicine, and fisheries science and understand the importance of basic biological research in addressing issues related to these parasites. 2. Think logically based on the results of scientific research and make informed decisions on how to conduct basic research that contributes to the prevention and control of various parasitic diseases. 3. Engage proactively and independently in their studies. 4. Express ideas appropriately in both oral and written forms using scienticic terminology.
