メディア授業とは,メディアを利用して遠隔方式により実施する授業の授業時数が,総授業時数の半数を超える授業をいいます。 メディア授業により取得した単位は,卒業要件として修得すべき単位のうち60単位を超えないものとされています。

This is an intensive two-day course conducted in English. The course is designed for students from non-law disciplines who wish to gain a basic understanding of Japanese intellectual property law.
The primary aim of this course is to introduce the fundamental concepts of copyright and industrial property rights, and to explain how these legal systems function in practice. Students will learn how intellectual property law relates to various fields such as technology, business, creative industries, and research activities.
The course also aims to develop practical academic skills, including proper citation practices and respectful use of others’ works, as well as the ability to discuss intellectual property issues from international and comparative perspectives.
No prior knowledge of law is required.

It is essential for graduate students to have knowledge of intellectual property rights in conducting research. In this course, students will learn the basics of intellectual property rights and copyright law, patent law, design law, trademark law as well as research ethics while relating those laws to judicial precedent and other relevant cases. The knowledge that students will acquire in this course would be useful during their future careers.
Upon completion of this course, students will be able to: ・Understand the basic framework of intellectual property law. ・Identify and explain basic intellectual property issues using legal principles and case studies. ・Apply intellectual property knowledge in academic and professional contexts. ・Discuss intellectual property issues from comparative and international perspectives.

The course primarily covers two major branches of intellectual property law: copyright law and industrial property law.
The first day is devoted to copyright law, focusing on its basic structure and key principles. The second day addresses industrial property law, including patents, designs, and trademarks.
The course concludes with discussions and student presentations on selected intellectual property issues. Depending on the number of participants, presentations may be conducted individually or in groups.
