This course aims to develop the ability to understand Operations Management not as isolated functional control, but as an integrated process in which product development, procurement, manufacturing, logistics, quality, and sales interact to create value. Students will cultivate dynamic managerial capabilities that continuously update plans and decisions in response to constraints and unexpected events arising during execution. The course examines operations as a “chain-link structure” and highlights the role of project management in cross-functional integration. Through the concept of “feed-up,” students learn how execution outcomes are reflected in upstream planning and strategic decisions. Drawing on the instructor’s practical experience in manufacturing, product development, new factory planning, and industry–academia–government collaboration, the course integrates theory with real-world cases and applied exercises.

This course aims to provide a comprehensive understanding of the core processes essential for the sustainable growth of the manufacturing industry. Under the constraints of quality, cost, and delivery (QCD), students will learn how to develop and mass-produce products that are highly responsive to market needs.
Key topics include: - Understanding technological trends and social dynamics to formulate product strategies - Developing technology roadmaps to align with future industry demands - Principles and mechanisms of operations management in manufacturing - Various management methodologies for effective production control
Additionally, students will gain knowledge of generalized project management frameworks to ensure efficient execution of manufacturing projects. Through this course, students will acquire the skills and perspectives necessary to strategically integrate technology, production, and management for sustainable industrial development.
